Privacy policy.

This policy covers what julietmey.com collects, how I use it, and the choices you have. The site is run by me, Juliet Mey, from Cape Town, South Africa.
Who runs this site
I do, on my own. For anything privacy-related, email me at jm@julietmey.com.
What data is collected
Three sources.
- What you share with me. When you fill in a contact form or book a call, I get your name, email, company, and whatever you write in the message. If you book through Calendly, they collect the same details and pass them to me.
- Analytics. Google Analytics 4 records which pages get viewed, your approximate location (country and city), device type, browser, and how you arrived at the site. Google anonymises IP addresses before storing them.
- Cookie consent. Your choice on the cookie banner is stored locally in your browser so it doesn't reappear every time you visit.
How the data is used
- To reply to your enquiry and deliver any work we agree to.
- To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
- To remember your cookie choice.
Your data isn't sold. It isn't used for advertising or profiling.
Cookies and tracking
Two types.
- Essential. A small entry in your browser remembers your cookie banner choice. This one's always on.
- Analytics. Google Analytics 4 sets cookies to measure site usage. These only load if you accept on the banner. If you decline, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all.
You can change your mind any time by clearing browser storage for this site. The banner comes back the next time you visit.
Third parties
- Google Analytics for anonymised usage data
- Calendly for booking calls (they have their own privacy policy)
- An email provider for storing and replying to your messages
- A hosting provider for serving the site
Data retention
- Contact form and booking messages: kept for up to 3 years from our last interaction, then deleted
- Analytics data: retained by Google for 14 months, then deleted automatically
- Cookie consent record: stored in your browser until you clear it
- Client work records: kept for 7 years to meet South African tax and accounting rules
Your rights
Under South Africa's POPIA, the EU and UK GDPR, and California's CCPA, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data I hold about you
- Ask me to correct anything that's wrong
- Ask me to delete your data, where I'm not required by law to keep it
- Withdraw consent for analytics at any time
- Lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator or your local data authority

Security
Your data is held with reputable providers using encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfect, so if a breach affects your data, I'll tell you and the relevant regulator.
Children
This site is for business decision-makers. It isn't intended for anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If anything meaningful changes, I'll update the date at the top and, where it matters, note the change on the site.
